Layout comes before units
The cheapest change you will ever make is moving a line on a drawing. The most expensive is moving a soil pipe in week three. We start with how you actually use the room, where the light falls, and what the existing services will and will not allow, then choose units around that. We fit Wren and Howdens ranges, German rigid-build units where you want the higher tolerance and the soft-close hardware to still feel right in ten years, and we will work with a kitchen you have already bought. What changes between them is build quality, tolerance and lead time, and we will tell you honestly where the money is worth spending and where it is not.
Worktops, and the one that suits the room
Laminate is the value option and modern ones look far better than they did. Solid surface and quartz are templated after the units are installed, which adds a wait of a week or two between fitting and finishing, and that gap needs to be in the programme rather than a surprise. Timber suits the older properties around the town but needs oiling and will not forgive a wet glass left overnight.
Gas, water and electricity in one room
A kitchen is the only room in the house where all three meet. Our gas engineers are Gas Safe registered and our electricians are NICEIC approved, so the hob connection, the new circuits and the extractor are all certificated. If we are moving the sink or the hob rather than replacing in place, that is drainage and gas work, and it is priced as such rather than absorbed quietly.
